What is an asset tracking system or solution

An asset tracking system or solution refers to the method of tracking assets (mostly physical), either by scanning barcode labels attached to the assets or by using tags using RFID to find out their details. An asset tracking system includes software (the core of the system), barcode scanners, barcode labels, stickers tags, and mobile computing devices to streamline & automate the tracking of assets (e.g. equipment, items, tools, etc.) from acquisition to retirement in an organisation.
