The LP range of printers have been going for quite a few years now. Zebra focused on usability with their printers, making them as easy to use as possible. They also built a range of printers that were inherently economical to build – the result was a range of very low cost printers. The LP 2824 is an excellent entry level printer. However, it is Direct Thermal – giving label life of only a few months and in sunlight or heat, just a few hours. The other major limitation is the width of just 56mm. If you need a high quality label, printing onto plastic or long label life, you should consider a thermal transfer printer. If you need faster production, or wider labels, perhaps this printer isn't ideal. Also, because it’s a small printer, the limited label capacity may not be practical for volume printing. If cost and usability are still important to you, consider the TLP2844 for longer label life.
