It is simple to set up and the cables can be interchanged with other Motorola scanners. The bright LED and adjustable volume beeper ensure  you'll always know when you've read the code OK. Like other barcode readers, you can use the scanner manual to 'program' prefixes or suffixes to scans.  In other words, you can set the scanner up to add the keypress ENTER to each scan.  When you scan it will automatically enter the data into the computer.  You can set it up to add characters or key-presses (like TAB or up arrow) to the beginning and end of scans.
