If you have ever tried scanning barcodes with a mobile phone you'll know it's not as fast as you'd like. If you're scanning more than a handful of codes, you'll have realised you need a dedicated barcode scanner. Socket are experts in making barcode scanners specifically for use with SmartPhones and PDAs.
You no longer need to be restricted by cumbersome cables connecting the scanner to a PC. Socket's cordless hand scanner (CHS) uses bluetooth wireless technology to connect to your PDA or Phone. Using the CHS, you are able to scan barcode data wirelessly to your Bluetooth enabled SmartPhone (iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Symbian and Palm), Windows Mobile, Notebook or Tablet device.
It's no use having a barcode scanner if the batteries are dead. The CHS uses rechargeable batteries with an 18 hour (15,000 scans) battery life, that can be recharged in 5 hours. In the unlikely event you find yourself with dead batteries, this will work with standard AAA batteries.
Socket have thought of everything and even have a stylus tip built into the base of the scanner, so you can use your PDA without putting down the scanner to pick up the stylus. The CHS has been ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in the palm of your hand. Comes with software that will set up your CHS with the majority of portable devices and computers. Once the software is installed, your Bluetooth scanner sends it's scans to where ever the cursor is on screen. One accessory included is the retractable lanyard or belt clip tether. Hang the scanner around your neck so it's always convenient to scan with. Customers have said this one feature alone makes it better than any other scanner on the market.
