In 2011 DSH Systems of Napier bought InventoryControl from us, to control their stock. Here is a review of the software and their experience, written by DSH.
Roughly how many people work in DSH?
DSH Systems has its Headquarters in New Zealand but our product is predominantly exported, we have more than 11 companies selling the DSH, Dust Suppression System on our behalf world wide. In NZ we have 5 staff.
Roughly when was the company started?
DSH Systems was established in 2004 to provide the bulk handling industry with a solution to their dust issues.
How did you realise you had a problem with inventory?
We are the typical scenario of a small business growing at an exponential rate. Our business processes needed to catch up with our growth. We realised that we required an inventory system when we received orders and were running out of materials for construction while packing for export, and we did not know the exact value of the stock we were holding.
What were the most important requirements that you needed to meet on this project?
The aim of this project was to install an inventory system and a new business process that enabled us to maintain accurate stock numbers, and notify us when to reorder stock.
When you were looking for a supplier what was important to you?
We reviewed a number of suppliers of inventory management systems when investigating a solution to our problem, what we were looking for was a simple, cost effective system, with mobile scanning.
Why did you choose us?
We chose the Wasp Inventory Management system as it presented DSH Systems with a simple, cost effective solution to our inventory issues.
If you were describing our business how would you describe us?
Wasp has provided DSH Systems with outstanding customer support, during initial setup we encountered a number of issues, but I was impressed with the assistance we received.
Now that you've started using the system, what other benefits can you say you've received thanks to this solution?
Our business processes are streamlined and more robust. With Bar-coding in place we are all speaking the same language with consistent coding of products. We feel we are one step closer to future proofing DSH Systems for our continued growth in the global market.
What other comments do you have about the product or our service that could help us help you and others better?
I would suggest that you ensure that the correct installation disks are sent to the client, and that there are clear written installation procedures sent out with the product, your user documentation is not particularly good. Luckily you have great customer service – thanks Romil, you deserve a medal.
If you'd like to speak to DSH Systems about their experience, please email us and we'll put you in touch.
